February BJP

This is my February BJP page. Done. Finito. Yay! For this month on my colorwheel theme red-purple was the color to use. Not too bad for a Valentine's month. I had this blue heart bead given to me by Ewian when I won a give-away on her blog for St. Lucia Day. That is the only gifted bead on this page but it is a large one, the dominant bead and theme for the month. I added a peyote ruffle around it to make it fit in and also to stand out more. The background is a rather knotty mess of beading - at least that's what I was attempting because as much as we love to fall in love, to hang in there with one person requires a lot of give and take and some messy times. There's always a few bumps in the road too as you can see by the bumpy beads in the background.

And now on the March. If I'm not too careful, I might actually catch up! Well, sometime anyhow.

Nice page. You're right. When you are with someone for a long time, or a short time, there are plenty of ups and downs. We had all ours early in our marriage, mostly adjustments to each other. Seems like all the others were caused by someone else causing problems for us.

I'm astounded by how you work on such a tiny scale. It takes me ages just to thread one seed bead!

This is so pretty! I keep noticing different aspects & clicking to make it larger. I love the heart in the middle -very pretty color. The edging is perfect. It does exactly what you said - stands out but it also fits easily with the rest of the piece and finishes it nicely.

I *love* the colors, and the way you've surrounded the heart!

Once again, I love the story behind the piece as well as the beadwork itself!

I love it! The colors are so harmonious together. I don't see a "knotty mess of beads" as you say, in the background. I like the cool pattern you have made behind your heart. At first I thought it was short fringes, but see it is closely beaded. Very nice. Enjoyed the story behind it as well.

p.s I use 15 minutes every day to make a mark or two in my art journal, that is pretty much everything artsy I get done, have huge sciences exams this days and we are talking plurals.

Hi Timaree! Love this page, great colors! Definitely right about the "bumpy" times.... I like how you depicted it here.

Hi Timaree...your page is just beautiful! I love the blue heart bead and the way you surrounded it. I couldn't agree more...it does take work, give and take and there are always some bumps in the road!

I know you will catch up...you are so close! Have a nice Memorial Day weekend! ~Lisa ;-)

Ditto everyone who got here before me about this page... It is sooooo sumptuous! I agree about the marriage pathway too... Yup, there are some bumps. Know what I love most about your pages? It's the size. Just perfect to hold in the palm of your hand, heavy with beads, precious! Robin A.

I like the knotty form of beading the best! In fact I was wondering how you made it meander yet still look cohesive? Beautiful piece and congrats on being non traditional in your colors for Feb!
